What you are going to discover is a key — a golden key — that unlocks the potential of your own mind.

This golden key allows you to access your subconscious, so you can change the programming.  So that you can change unwanted habits of thought and action to what you want them to be.

Why is this so important?

More motivation will enable you to get more things done with less time and effort.

We mortals are all creatures of habit.  Habits go very deep.  They are held in the subconscious part of our minds.  Decisions we make consciously are all very nice indeed, but they don’t go deep enough.  Not deep enough to make real changes or to make them stick.

We all know people who make wonderful promises to themselves, only to find they keep slipping back into well worn patterns.  Perhaps you’re one of those people.  Most of us are.

Let’s take an example.  If you’ve smoked for years, your mind is programmed as a smoker.  All the horror stories about how black your lungs are and how soon you will die may convince you to quit, but they won’t make quitting easy.  Not as long as your mind is still programmed as a smoker.  In fact, until you change your subconscious programming, quitting is impossible.

The same is true, not only for habits like smoking, drugs, and alcohol, but for internal habits like procrastination or not managing your time.  Then there are the habits of thought, possibly the worst of all because they are so subtle. 

You may not even know you have them.  If you grew up in poverty, you may have habits of thinking like a poor person, and even if you win the lottery or inherit millions, that thinking can keep sabotaging you until you’re right back where you started.  There are habits like putting yourself down, not believing in your own abilities, believing that you will always be overweight or in poor health, that you are unattractive or stupid, or that you will never find a fulfilling loving relationship — all habits of thought that can keep you stuck where you are for the rest of your life.

But think about this:  It’s highly likely that your habits of thought are ALL THAT’S holding you back — the only thing preventing you from having everything you’ve ever wanted in life.  I really do mean everything — health, wealth, love, career, happiness — everything.  

The reality is that you can have it all.  Now here’s the bad news and the good news.  The bad news is you can’t get it by sitting around waiting for someone else to do it for you.  It’s up to you.  The good news is the same news:  It’s up to you.  That means you’re not at anyone’s mercy.  You’re not a victim of your own past.  You can change it!

Hi, I’m Bill Hultquist with a question for all my goal achievers out there. Do you have a definite chief aim in life? Perhaps it could be referred to as a calling, or a profession, but I can assure you that it isn’t a job.  I’m not saying jobs aren’t important, but I want to emphasize how important it is for you to create meaning in your life.  Sometimes a job is a means to an end.  Most times it is a major part of what defines us as individuals.  But what would happen if you lost your job today?  Does the job define you so much that you couldn’t do anything else?

Most people never think beyond the day to day routine of getting up, driving to work, working, then driving home and repeating that process over and over again for 40 years.  It may be satisfactory for some, but not for you either!

Isn’t it a shame that many people live long lives and yet go to their graves with their “music” still in them.  That means, they have never achieved a legacy or major definite purpose.  They never completed what they really wanted to do.  But that is not for you!

How to Live Above the Line

In 1995 I was in a hospital room visiting my brother when he was told by an oncologist that he had Stage-4 lung cancer. The doctor spoke of more tests to do and possible treatments, but he told him that he would “never” be free from cancer and that in all likelihood he would die within 8 months. Eight months later my brother Keith, age 39, died.

Then, I watched my mother fall into a continuous state of overwhelming grief which led to her decline in health and early death. In both cases I watched two very important people in my life wither away and die from what I believe was their inability to master and eliminate their own negative emotions, of grief, depression, and despair.

Napoleon Hill stated, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.” That is much more powerful than most people understand. You see, if you believe you’re going to do anything it will happen. The more you concentrate on anything, the more likely the occurrence. Good or bad, it will be attracted to you.

I have been working with a mastermind group researching how emotions manifest the good or bad you experience in life. We have calibrated our research and have made a significant yet simple discovery. Anyone can harness their own mind power to create a “mind-culture of continuous improvement.” We help people do just that with a tool we call The Personal Power Index.

The PPI actually measures and calibrates our emotions on a scale of 0 to 1000. Emotions below the level of 200 are harmful and responsible for most of the dysfunctional behavior exhibited by many people, businesses, organizations and governments. People who operate constantly at this low level calibration actually create Cortisol a hormone produced by the adrenal gland which is physically harmful. Once it gets into your system it will take at least a full day to leave; and if you allow yourself to dwell in these low level emotions, Cortisol will linger in your body perpetually. We call these low level emotions “The Red Zone.”

On the other hand people who learn to live at or above the line with a calibration level of 200 or more are embracing positive energy and create endorphins that are healthy for you physically and mentally. A person operating above 200 will begin to attract all of the right people and resources to create lasting success and happiness. I like to say, “they are living above the line!”

The ego is that little voice in our heads that often trips us up when we seek to change our thinking in order to improve our lives. Ego is not the same thing as self-esteem. Positive self-esteem is healthy. An overactive ego can lead to significant dysfunction. When I speak to audiences, I use The Personal Power Index to help them realize the role ego plays in our lives. I tell them to remember that ego can mean “Edging Good Out.” So far, no one has left during that part of the talk and everyone remains focused. It’s like they are hearing this for the very first time and it makes perfect sense.

Embedding and embracing this information in your daily life is transformational. Masterminds with like-minded people will help that happen. Masterminds create accountability partners who will be there for you tomorrow, next month, next year and five years from now. Few people seek that kind of support. Lots of people attend seminars for motivation but as a friend of mine says, “You can’t learn to ride a bike in a seminar.” You must remain engaged with a powerful support team and practice what you learn daily.

Most people experience what I call “discreet and disconnected acts of improvement.” They attend seminars and workshops, but go back to life as usual the next day and seldom implement what they learned. Only those who purposely embrace continuous learning and who are supported and held accountable through masterminds (and other like support mechanisms) are the ones who will make consistent growth in their lives and businesses.

Andrew Carnegie said, “You can take any of my teams and place them anywhere in the world and they will be successful. “ Carnegie didn’t have The Personal Power Index, but he knew his teams and he knew their mental attitudes would make them perpetually successful. It can work for you too! Embrace life with all the wonders it has to offer. Commit today to live your life with passion and purpose by striving to live above the line and out of “The Red Zone.”
